Bio
Jeanne is a medical doctor and public health researcher focusing on violence against women and girls. She began her career as a primary care physician at the Military Hospital Yaounde and the District Hospital of Biyem-Assi in Cameroon. At the latter, she served as the Chief of Pediatric, Internal Medicine, and Surgery units. Jeanne managed a 15-person strong triage team, comprised of doctors, nurses, and lab technicians, and oversaw the implementation of national medical guidelines and quality control protocols. She also built partnerships with pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis and Sanofi. This reduced patient and operational costs and medication accessibility.
Jeanne then relocated to the US, where she worked at the University of Washington as a researcher at the Department of Health Services at the School of Public Health. In that capacity, Jeanne was the principal investigator in their Connecting Partners Beyond Services project, conducted with the public health department in King County, Washington. That study focused on chronic disease and injury prevention and explored the effectiveness of collaboration between 240 community health workers and agencies. Jeanne then worked as a consultant for Cameroon’s National Expanded Program on Immunization, and at the campaign for a global treaty on violence against women.
