Bio
After an extensive career in the mortgage industry, Wendy entered the nonprofit sector in 2009 while living overseas in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Elected to the board of the global International Women’s Contact organization she served as their Charity Officer for 3 years. In this international role Wendy brought together women from over 50 nationalities to raise funds for local (to the Netherlands) and international charities.
After repatriating to the U.S., Wendy’s early work in philanthropy was at Give Kids the World and Heart of Florida United Way. Having a passion for seniors she joined Seniors First, Inc. in March 2014 as their Chief Development Officer and was tasked with building their development team. In this role Wendy crafted and implemented a comprehensive fund development plan which included annual giving, major gifts, marketing and communications, grants and contracts, special events, donor cultivation and stewardship.
Additionally, she wrote and executed new board development and training procedures, and encouraged professional development for her team. Wendy has since retired from Seniors First after 11 years but remains active in the community serving on several boards and committees.
