Amethyst spent twelve years in sub-Saharan Africa securing funding for education and community development. She began working with faith-based organizational initiatives and later crossed into the education sector, working with non-governmental organizations to bring rapid response relief to areas affected by war. One of her most important projects was a $4 million consortium with USAID/OFDA during her time overseas.

Amethyst also worked as a consultant for organizations like UNICEF, Plan International and The Alliance. She’s a founding member of an international church called Nouvelle Communauté de l’Espérance. She also cofounded Rally International Corp., an organization that works in tandem with local community groups to help amplify their voices.
Amethyst has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in international development from Eastern University. She speaks fluent Swahili and is an ordained minister through Pray-Tell Ministries.

Amethyst Rodriguez currently serves as the Institutional Giving Officer at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, where she is responsible for securing more than $1 million per year in grants. In her spare time, she uses her Podcast, called “This Is Hope” to amplify transformational voices around the world and to encourage listeners to find hope in unexpected people, places and situations in life.
